Guys, Why would a guy who had a crush on me for 5 years suddenly lose interest?

2 weeks ago he was staring at me but now he feels uncomfortable when I look at him and tries to avoid me. What happened? He didn't find out anything new about me since I live a very private life and I still look the same. He is good looking but rather shy and introverted so I don't think he met a girl but I'm not sure

Here's my thoughts on why he might've lost interest:

- Sometimes guys just get nervous about making a move. Even if he liked you for a long time, once it seemed like things could possibly happen, he might've psyched himself out. Approaching a girl he's had a crush on for so long probably felt really intimidating.

- He may worry you don't actually like him back and is worried about getting rejected. It's easier for him to avoid you than take that risk.

- It's possible he met someone new even if just as a friend. Hanging with other people more could have taken his focus off you temporarily.

- Something totally unrelated to you could be bothering him and distracting him from pursuing a relationship. Personal issues at home, problems with friends etc.

- He may think you're out of his league and talked himself out of it. Low self-esteem can do that.

I'd say give it some time, don't chase too hard, but send him a friendly wave or smile if you make eye contact. That could help put him at ease. Guys can be complicated, try not to take it personally! Let me know if anything changes.
