This guy that I like, we text and have deep conversations. but in person he doesn’t speak to me but I catch him checking me out all the time, why?

He’s a very outgoing person, friendly and speaks to everyone except me. I always have to say hi to him in order for us to talk but even when we do it’s short and simple. I leave and always find him looking at me. Sometimes we go with a group of friend to eat at a restaurant and he only and always pays for me, I really like him but I’m not sure if he feels the same way. Does he like me or is he just friendly, I’m honestly conflicted. What should I do?
