How much is too much of physical touch with a guy friend?

I have a sweet guy friend who likes giving high fives or hugs sometimes and even wrap his arm around my shoulder for taking photos. Today we were walking down a sketchy alleyway and normally other guys would let me cling onto their arm but this guy friend wrapped his arm around me in a tight hug and after walking by the sketchy alley i thought he would have let go but didn’t until I did after 10-20 seconds. Is this normal behavior of guy friends?

Personally I wouldn't do anything more then a hug but I obviously wouldn't push a female friend off if she grabbed my arm or something because she was scared.

There is no such thing as too much. I hug and cuddle with all my friends.

Normal, I think he just wants to make you feel safe, but you could ask him why he hugs you so tight.
