I did something wrong (not cheating) and I apologized sincerely. He said he might rethink. It's been 8 days since that and he hasn't made any attempt to reach. Also I'm on vacation.

We work together and my return would be awkward as hell. Do you think he is done?

I looked into his phone to check who he is texting to, because I was suspicious he is cheating on me.

He was texting with a chick from work... sort of an emotional cheating... but could not see the entire conversation.

"Sort of an emotional cheating" Sounds like you are reaching tbh. So, you aren't even in a relationship (why?) and you're going full on crazy girlfriend going through his phone. He might stay if the sex is good.

Look the thing is that our "thing" lasted for 7 months and we were friends before that. Don't you think I deserved clarification at least at some point, which he didn't give to me. And why would he act like a boyfriend and I'm not allowed to act like a girlfriend?

The problem about not being in a relationship is not me... I wanted a relationship and he wanted the benefits and to be "free" to talk to anyone he wants without giving me the explanation. He knew that I wanted something serious but was "I don't want to talk about that now"

Why is it up to him give you clarification? You could have asked too. Did you think he would just wake up one day and decide to commit to you? That's never happening. Going through his phone was a stupid decision.
You can't bust someone for cheating who isn't in a relationship.
