Ah man, that really sucks. Being unknowingly involved like that is super awkward.
As for forgiveness down the line, it's hard to say for sure. A lot would depend on how his girlfriend is feeling now. If she's really hurt and upset, she may need space from both of you for a while. Then it's up to him whether he wants to reconcile with her or not.
Either way, I'd give them both space for now. The last thing you want is to make things messier. Let things settle, then maybe you could reach out to him to apologize again later - but don't expect or demand forgiveness. Just explain your side, take responsibility for your part, and let him process it without pressure.
With time and distance, people can cool off. But there's no guarantees. Just focus on being true to yourself and learning from this experience. All you can do is own up to your mistakes and show you want to do better in the future. The rest is up to them.
For now, just stay away and let their relationship heal (or not) naturally. It may work out eventually if it's meant to be. But gotta respect their space right now, as hard as that is. Keep your head up - you'll get through it either way!
I don't see why he wouldn't
I don't see why not.
