Do guys drop hints or feel you out when they are ready to say I love you?

My boyfriend of over four months has been using the L word in every other way often for the last two weeks. He’s also been asking a lot of questions about my feelings about him. I’m ready to say it and think he might be gauging my interest. Thoughts?

Ngl the only time I said the big L word it was very spontaneous.
It came from the heart sure but I do think I rushed into saying it because it left things in a shaky position.
My and my girl share love but we do not have a solid foundation committed relationship (we are exclusive)
And the harder I think of it the less I want one.
She's a great girl but we don't share the same values and outlook on life. I had hoped we would influence eachother and grow closer but clearly it's not working.

So I wouldn't fault a guy for taking his time with the L word, it's a delicate balance and welll worth protecting.

I would say most guys are lying when they say it and they are more calculating about what they are trying to get out of you.

We don't often hint, we're not good at it. You'll notice, we often miss your hints entirely. As guys we're taught to have a poker face, no visible emotion. If it happens, it's likely to be a bolt out of the blue, possibly for both of you. The first "I love you" is a big deal. It can be terrifying, to admit to someone else that you have those emotions gives them a lot over power over you.

I'm so cynical when it comes to this , sadly I put it down to age the expression is used far too much , and in inappropriate circumstances , but you are old enough to know all that too , and I certainly wish you well , just hope its more than words in this case , and the timing is correct.

sort of. thing is, excpt player types, guys drop subtle hints from around the start of a relationship, not just near that time they may finally say it.

From my experience, yes they’ve dropped hints or told me directly they loved me. Sounds like he’s hinting and gauging if you’re on the same page :)
