Yes men do often act stupid because part of our brains shut down. It’s hard for us to think straight. It’s a evolutionarily from how our brains are structured to react to visual stimuli

A guy will handle it differently depending on his age, his experience, the mood he’s currently in and if he’s getting his needs met in bed or not.

A 45 year old man who has steady girlfriend/wife and is currently worried about paying bills is going to react differently vs a single 25 year old man who has a lot of time on his hands and hasn’t gotten laid in over 6 months.

The older experienced guy will definitely still notice a pretty and attractive young woman. But most (but not all) of those guys are more self aware of what’s going on in his mind vs a younger inexperienced guy. The older guy is not a “creep” or a bad guy if the thought crosses his mind but rather how reacts to it.

Anyway I personally take a deep breath and work on getting a grip on my mind before talking to a pretty girl. I’ll try to focus on something innocuous or mundane in the environment. I will never compliment her looks in a first conversation because I know she’s already being told that 5 times a day. Especially if she’s much younger I am very careful not to come off as creepy. A compliment like that will only turn her on if and only if she finds me attractive as well. But that’s often difficult to know and (sadly) increasingly more risky for me to say as I get older.

There is also a mental trick I learned in college to try to find a flaw about the pretty girl and focus on it. Whether it’s something off about how she dresses off, something annoying in her voice tone, reminding she can have gas/body odor etc. just focus on something to remind yourself she’s human and not some larger than life fantasy goddess or something. I remember there was one girl I thought was really cute in college but during a warm day one late spring I noticed she had some hair stubble in her armpit. That quickly made me look at her as more human. I know that sounds horrible but in reality that’s the counterbalance a man needs not lose self control.

Its mother natures cruel irony that men act this way. There are women I’ve met who I think look so so and everybody else think is hot. I interact with them normally and ironically they often tend to like me more because I am being myself.

But ladies I know some of you occasionally act this way around a man you find highly attractive as well. Some of you get shy, others well get overly obvious about it (and even aggressive) and then others have this mental self defense complex of being mean to him to “not give it away”. You don’t like the feeling of losing power to him because you have a crush on him.

So again me stereotypically have this problem but women can have it too. I also think more and more women are making their feelings obvious nowadays around guys they find attractive. Not necessarily a bad thing but the days of being “ladylike and coy” are more and more in the past. Just treat the guy the same as any unattractive yet nice/approachable guy you meet.

Absolutely, stupid as hell.
When I give advise to guys I tell them to be themselves. Don’t try to put some best foot forward or show a side of yourself that’s not real… just be you. If girls won’t like you for you then that’s something you need to work on.
When people meet me what they see is what they get.
The stupid comes out the more you try to be what you’re not.

Some women also act stupid when trying to speak to hot men. I don't have that problem.

So, all men and all women don't have the problem of acting stupid when speaking with pretty people. Some do.

Agreed! Some will act all macho and hype themselves up. Some will start fumbling over words and be all red faced. My favorites are the ones that are visibly and desperately trying to maintain eye contact while I'm wearing something that shows any amount of cleavage.

Personally, I behave like I usually do around everyone, regardless of their sex and/or how pretty/repulsive they are, so I wouldn't say I totally agree with this. But yes, it is true that a lot of men do tend to act goofy or act funny around a girl they're attracted to, and I've known a bunch of guys who do in fact act and behave like this, and here's why that's a thing;

Some guys try to go above and beyond to make themselves noticeable when they're around the woman they're attracted to, and how do you make yourself the most noticeable amongst 5 other guys who are your potential competition? You act funny and try to become the guy who makes her laugh.

Again, no hate to any guy who does this (unless you're one of those douchebags who try to insult their friends to act "cool"), but this trick is usually a double edged sword, and doesn't always work with every girl. Some may like it. Others may think you're an asshole. So read the room and understand where she's coming from first, or else she won't be laughing with you, but instead be laughing at you.

There was someone in one of my classes in grade school who thought I was pretty. He never said it but he did things like do dumb dances to make me laugh and got very jealous and angry at the other guy when other guys tried to even ask me a simple question whenever he was around.

To sum it up~ yes, I agree for the most part. There are some guys who don’t do this though.

We don't "act" stupid. We literally lose our ability to communicate and process anything. Mind you, this only happens to younger guys or guys that have no experience whatsoever with women. Because through experience comes the ability to handle the scenario better. I can pretty much talk to anyone I want relatively easily now. I think I act kinda stupid when I'm around pretty women too. At least I feel urge to act stupid. My hormones spike, and I get horny feeling, mixed with anxiety. So I'm not as emotionally stable around them.

Yeah big boobs can get a man to do anything. I once had a waitress bend over and shake her boobs when talking to me. I bought a 3 course meal and gave her a nice tip. Men are unable to stop doing this and women are immune.
