Why do many men stop using their brains when talking to pretty girls?

Is the claim by many women that men are childish and less intelligent based on this; that if a man falls in love, he becomes emotional and weak, whereas women can generally be more pragmatic in relationships What do you think?

The following is my opinion, based on observation. I have not collected data nor do I know of any studies to support my theory. So, with that said:

When most men, and by that I mean the vast majority of men, meet a beautiful woman they don't know, the goal is for the woman to find that man attractive and desirable. He wants her as a prize because she's a trophy. He has no idea about anything else yet because he just met her. But that doesn't matter, because if he "wins her" and she turns out to be dumb, or a terrible lover, he can boast that he let her go.

For most men, it's like a trigger goes off and race begins. He has to have her, but he really doesn't know how to go about that, so he comes off sounding like a simp, a love fool, or just plain inept while throwing compliments around to endear himself. After years of watching the dance, that's what I conclude.
