My music professor told me today he likes me?

Here’s the context:
I’m 28. He’s 36. We are not kids anymore ok?

He is very ethical and professional and never talk with the students. Along time, we became good “acquaintances”.

Today he told me he have feelings for me, and I was just shocked. I couldn’t reply at all.
I feel the same about him.

I know what I’m looking in a man: provider, traditional role, family values, etc. kind of old fashioned man as the future father of my kids. And he just not fit the profile. I don't know, but I don’t think so.

But…. Keep in mind I have feelings for him as well….

To any reader, could you please give me your advise? What would you do in this situation? How would you act? What would you do?

Traditional roles are made-up bullshit. Before marriage, we used to just have sex with whoever. It wasn't even in the Bible initially; it was added to it later.

And we were just cavemen; rape would happen all the time. That's nature. Animals rape each other in nature all the time. That's what nature is, so no, men weren't always protectors and providers traditionally, and they still aren't. So, nothing in this world is perfect. There were times when it was seen as manly for a man to help raise the kids. But now it's just the man funds the woman money to raise the kids. When they get divorced, the man usually lets the kids go to the mom and has little involvement in raising them.

Your unrealistic expectation keeps you from having a happy and loving relationship. Life is not a Disney fantasy. The guy seems like a decent enough guy; you both like each other, so fucking be with him.

You're just looking for something that doesn't exist. The guy is right there; you're both far from perfect; just be with him. Just stop looking for stuff that isn't there.

Why not go on some dates, have some fun and get to know each other? Find out if he's married, divorced, has kids. Discuss each other's goals, hopes, dreams, and values.
You'll never find an absolutely perfect fit. But see how close of a fit you are and decide if the positives outweigh the negatives.
You already have feelings for each other. That's good sign. Listen to your logic but also your heart and gut.
