So there's a guy I have been texting. We were chatting consistently every few days. I was the first one to approach him irl. While talking to him, I realized that we have a lot in common. He also kinda hinted that he liked talking to me. All of a sudden he says that he wants to speed up and slow down our thing (we don't exactly share a relationship. None, for that matter). He proceeds to say that we shouldn't talk for 2 months from then. I don't understand why would he say so. I mean it's quite weird that he wants to stop talking to me after clearly having fun conversations. What does this mean? I am hella confused.

He may feel like you are falling for him emotionally or pick up on hints that you want a romantic relationship. If he’s requested a 2 month silent period that’s a sign from him that currently he wants to focus on other things.

Yeah, we know e/o in person. But we haven't really talked to each other. Actually I had a crush on him since a reasonable time and I confessed it to him. That was literally our 2nd conversation. Lol. So he's aware basically that I have feelings for him

If he knows you are into him but he hasn’t asked you out, then what’s more likely is he was talking to you to be kind and see if he could vibe with you. Asking for a 2 month and allowing you to be dating others in 2024 would indicate he didn’t feel that chemistry
