(Why) would a guy look up the LinkedIn profile of his crushes best friend but not of his crush?

Yeah, that is a bit strange that he'd look up the friend's profile and not the actual crush. Could be a few possibilities though:

- He might be insecure about looking up his crush directly and doesn't wanna seem creepy. But looking at the friend is less risky. Still weird though.

- There could be less info available on his crush's profile so he was just curious about the friend instead.

- He may be trying to find out more about his crush through her friend - like what they have in common, who the friend is dating, etc.

- Unfortunately it does seem possible he's developed a little side crush on the friend after hanging around her too. Guys can be dumb like that!

- Or he may even be trying to make the friend like him first so she puts in a good word with the actual crush. Sneaky play.

Honestly no good scenario really. I'd say there's a decent chance he likes the friend at least a little bit too based on that. Either way it's kinda sketchy behavior. I'd try to subtly pump the friend for info instead of being so obvious about it!
