Why would he say he is seeing someone if his status says single?

He broke up with someone a few months ago and immediately changed his status to single so I know it’s not because he don’t pay attention to his status. Do a that mean it’s a new relationship or that it’s not that serious.

That was what I was thinking. Maybe a new relationship…. We have been flirting for a few months, but it hasn’t really gone anywhere. He told me the other day that he couldn’t date me because he felt we were not compatible, then told me he was seeing someone. That was the first he had ever mentioned it even though we talk every day.
