What are the reasons you acted like your past with your ex never existed?

My number one reason would be so I can keep being my best me for my girlfriend so we can have a happy relationship, and I can breathe and be more relaxed in life.

If I were to keep thinking about my past with my ex everyday and not try to move on and Forget it, i'd always be concerned with my girlfriend cheating on me, lying about being in love with me, thinking my girlfriend doesn't care about my feelings, worried about my girlfriend only wanting me for my money or gifts i can buy her, and thinking I'll never be enough to please her in any way every single day. And yeah in general it makes my life a lot easier letting things like that go in some way especially when you have someone much better to look forward to.

Because moving on means moving on. I learned some lessons, applied them to being a better me than I was before, and left her in the past where she belongs.


At first I tried to erase her from my life and memory to avoid pain. With some time and growth I literally never think about her - often years go by without her in my mind at all - because she’s my ex and lost her place in my current existence in all its spectrums: emotional, mental, and physical.

I believe because sometimes it's hard to think back of what happened, which mistakes you made or what the other person did. It's also what made you the person you are today. But most times that's thanks to negative experiences, being cheated on, betrayed or simply due to life happening.

For me it was the mistake of ignoring red flags and accepting some stuff I wouldn't agree on without the rose-colored glasses like smoking, drugs and negative energy.

I kinda forgot about it. It's like with films, I sometimes forget I watched them. But it's not the ones that are really good or really bad that I forget about. It's the ones that are like, "meh".

Some years ago, I tried to forget I had a past... but it doesn't work.

I'm at peace with my past today. It doesn't bother me anymore. It has made me who I am today.
