Is there some truth behind his sarcasm?

So this guy I've been sleeping with randomly said this cheesy line to me.
"I got a crime to pick with you" I was confused and I had no idea where this was going, and he replied with "you stole my heart" 🤣🤣 we both laughed.. but thinking back, did he low-key mean it? We have gotten closer recently.. we're calling each other more, he's confiding in me more, he's told me we have a lot in common and we think alike... he feels more comfortable with me and I appreciate that. Whats your take on this?
