I go for a run if there is no snow, and currently, we have pretty good weather for running. And I regularly see those guys repairing or maintaining the electricity line for the city train. And there is one who always smiles at me. So I grin back.

First off, due to the #metoo movement, many guys have been thrown under the bus or out in jail or publicly shamed for trying to approach a woman's, even if we're not creepy whatsoever.

Also a when girls are with their friends, uh-uh, nope we're not risking it.

And then there's the classic fear of rejection too.

Hard to say. When I was younger I wore my heart on my sleeve. But after paying for doing so over and over again I learned to stop doing that. I haven't got a hard heart I just protect it till I know she's worth it.
I'd say younger are more likely to hide out of fear. Older guys are more likely out of good sense.🤣
