Does He Really Like Talking To Me?

I have this guy friend online. We've never met, but we have good conversations together. The thing is, I usually have to be the one to text first. But once I get the conversation started, he really opens up and seems to enjoy talking. He shares his personal life events, his struggles, and even showed me his job resumé (I don't know why he did that). He actually talks more than I do after I start the conversation.

But is there a reason he doesn't text first?

That's pretty much evident he likes talking to you. His behaviour so far seems like he is just not of the type who would approach or initiate a conversation.
Perhaps down the line, he'd start doing that too.
Also, you can politely bring it up as well that why does he never text you first? He wouldn't mind answering since he talks so much with you.
