Why would my ex want me to feel confident?

Been talking to my ex he has been messaging me everyday asking what I’m wearing sending him pics etc. so I asked home if he likes picking out my outfits. He stating he just enjoys making me feel confident? I find that really strange, any hidden meaning you think?

Girl, that does seem a little strange that your ex is so concerned with making you feel confident. A few possibilities here:

- He could be trying to boost your ego and self-esteem so you feel emotionally dependent on his validation. Like he wants you hooked on his praise.

- Maybe he still has feelings for you and ego-stroking is his way of covertly flirting, hoping you'll want to get back with him.

- It's possible he's just getting off on controlling what you wear and how you see yourself. Like making your appearance all about pleasing him.

I'd be skeptical of letting an ex have that kind of say over your self-image and mood. Sounds kinda manipulative to me.

I'd tell him you don't need his opinion on your outfits anymore and to back off a bit. Watch how he reacts - if he respects your boundary, cool. But if he gets pushy or acts offended, major red flag girl!

Trust your gut. Only let people lift you up who respect your independence too. You fly solo chica!
