Guys, Is he interested or not?

Several months after me & my ex broke up (we remained best friends with benefits) I went through a hardship & he added me to his car insurance & pays for my part. But says he’s not interested in me

He likes things the way they are meaning having you as a friend for benefit and cares for you but don't want to be in a relationship. It is very common, that people care and love someone but don't want to be in a relationship with them. That is cause either they have tried it in the past and it hasn't worked out or they simply can't make a relationship with that individual work.

If he says he's not interested, I'd take that at face value. We (guys) don't usually beat around the bush or play mind games about love or relationships. We tend to shoot straight about our feelings from the get-go. That being said, he probably just wants to be helpful and be a gentleman. He doesn't hate you, but he's just not interested in you as anything more than a friend.
