My boyfriend eats the fish with the head, is it normal?

So he was preapearing a big fish he bought from the supermarket, he was seasoning it, I never cooked fish before but i think u need to take the eyes and head off before cooking. I realized he didn't do it. So I asked, are you eating whole head and eyes. He was like "yes ofcourse, I do it like that whole my life" when I heard it, I was disgusted so bad. And it gave me big ick inside. I have obsession for cleaning. I am cleaning even the vegetables 3 times at least before I cook. I don't know maybe it's a normal thing but I felt so disgusted by the way he eats the head of the fish as well. He even said it's an honor in his culture when someone serves it. So maybe it's the cultural difference... maybe I'm just exaggerating...

Yeah. You're able to eat the heads and eyes of fish. I remember one time in health class we watched this video of a man (I think he was stranded) who would catch fish and since his body was starving, he ate every piece of the fish he could. Even the head and eyes (his mind thought of the eyes as a dessert). It might seem gross eating the head of an animal but when it comes to a fish, you have to remember they have smaller brains and bones. Therefore, it's not going to be as gross. I'd pick eating that over an animal's brain or heart personally.

Eating fish heads is extremely normal in lots of cultures. They are every bit as clean as other parts of the fish, so it is sanitary.
