+1 yI’d politely decline, and stay as far away from him as possible! It sounds like sex trafficking. I’m not saying he would “sell me”, but he will definitely expect sex! I have a boyfriend with whom I live. But even if I was single, I would NEVER accept a trip to Paris from a guy I’d JUST met! I’m a lot of things, naive and stupid are not on that list! Besides, Paris is on the list of the top 20 most dangerous cities in Europe right now. (Paris is #15, with almost half the top 15 being cities in former eastern block nations, including 3 cities in Ukraine, which is at war!)

Yes, of course you are right, thank you. I have just never had any desire to go to Paris, so I chose Egypt instead. Would you rather go to Paris or would you chose somewhere else? If so, where?
Asker+1 yIt’s free so I will go to Paris
- +1 y
Oh, and since I just met this hypothetical guy, I would let HIM go to Paris while I went to Egypt 'cause how do I know he isn't an axe murderer? Or maybe he has some diabolical plan to throw me off the top of t he Eiffel Tower, which by the way isn't in Egypt?
Asker+1 yI’m running a background check on him
- +1 y
Good one... You should be a professional financial planner!
- +1 y
Think how much money you could make if you started an agency specializing in doing background checks for women who have been invited to Paris by some random dude?
- +1 y
Egypt’s nice too. A bit tougher, but fascinating.
- +1 y
@RedInnocent69 Have you been? I think I may be changing my hypothetical mind and going to Bora Bora instead. Only problem with that is I might never come back!
- +1 y
Yes, @Caroline91. Three times, actually. Haven’t been to Bora Bora, but imagine it would get dull after a few days, a bit like Maldives. Great if you like the beach, but you can have that experience at Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt too.
Asker+1 y@caroline91 I might get rich if I start my own business
- +1 y
@RedInnocent69 Sounds like you really enjoyed it. I think my husband is in Egypt at the moment. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get bored on Bora Bora although I might have to change it to Tahiti because I understand the surfing is better there. I literally crave the Pacific Ocean.

Get to know this guy, if you are interested in him. Shit , even I wouldn’t go on a trip with a girl that I barely knew , I don’t care how beautiful she is , my ass wouldn’t go with her , until I really

Also a memorable night out in Paris and with a little sightseeing & a gourmet meal aboard a luxurious dinner cruise along the Seine River. Float past the city’s famed monuments, such as the Louvre and Notre Dame, and admire the beauty of the Seine's riverbanks.

In addition don’t forget to have French fries too.

I still would want to see a return ticket & if the joker can’t show you that ticket RED FLAG don’t go.

I’m sure there is a McDonald’s there however it’s probably far from the McDonald’s we have here in the UNUnited States.
Asker+1 yI might not go, I want to save my money and maybe go with my girlfriend

I never asked & I have a question in regard to your question. If a guy you just met asked you to travel with him to Paris is he paying or do you have to pay your own way?

@Caroline91 Oh now that would be exciting... no rush. Paris is not going anyplace.

I know, right?

@Caroline91 But you do have to go sometime... Paris is pretty amazing. I love to just sit at a cafe sip my coffee and watch the world go by. People in Paris (and Europe) work to live not live to work...

@northerngal I have heard that about work there and surely wish the US would pick up on that idea. We'd actually probably see better productivity. Thanks for all of your wonderful thoughts on Paris!

@jennz6 Of course! Everyone travels to Paris just to go to McDonald's... Ronald's gift to the world! Just think of the stories you could tell when you got home... Well, first we went to McDonald's and then to the McLouvre, next the McEiffel Tower, then the...
- +1 y
@Jennz6 I think French cuisine is amazing. If you haven't tried it, you're in for a treat! I would be sad if you only went to McDonald's... There are markets with delicious, fresh produce, patisseries with wonderful baked goods and desserts, and restaurants that prepare and cook everything to perfection so that you are getting the best flavor and quality of the food. I use French cookbooks often and much of it is technique to make simple foods taste fantastic.
Asker+1 y@Caroline91 I really don’t like French cuisine
- +1 y
@TheRealPepperPotts Thank you so much! I can’t believe someone has finally given me a reason to want to go to France. Next stop, Italy…bruschetta all the way…mmmmwuh!
- +1 y
@jennz6 Perhaps Italy then? I’ll meet you there and we can eat our way through Rome?
- +1 y
It sounds like you've tried it before?
- +1 y
@Caroline91 I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not...
- +1 y
The Louvre [sigh]... I would want to spend some time there.
- +1 y
@Caroline91 Why the sarcasm?
- +1 y
@TheRealPepperPotts well thanks for asking for clarification. I appreciate that. I am rarely sarcastic with people I don’t know very, very well and who understand my odd sense of humor. I can also be a bit macabre so I have to be careful of what I allow to actually go from my overly imaginative brain out of my mouth. So, I mostly try to just let the silly, fun loving side come out. Short answer: no I was not being sarcastic. I love to eat, all kinds of food from all over the world. It is amazing that I am not seriously overweight, but size proportional to height. You are literally the 1st person to ever give me a reason to want to go to Paris. Since I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and San Diego, I’m not terribly inclined to subject myself to the rigors of travel without a truly good reason. So, what are you thoughts on sarcasm?
Asker+1 y@Caroline91 let’s go together
- +1 y
@Caroline91 I wasn't sure after the remark about just eating at McDonald's in France (which would be tragic, in my opinion). You know, the "McLouvre, McEiffel" remark. Then, the next comment could have been genuine, but after the previous one (sarcasm) I just couldn't tell. Thank you for clarifying; it makes such a difference! : ) I hope you get to go; it would be an awesome experience.
- +1 y
@TheRealPepperPotts It would be tragic, certainly for a foodie like me. My comment about the McLouvre, etc. was intended more as making a point about what American businesses do overseas. I have lived in two countries besides the US and seen what happens from what I call the McDonald's Effect, but I shouldn't expect other people to get that comment without putting it in context. Ya done good, girl. Thanks for your graciousness.
- +1 y
@Caroline91 I see. That's a good point and very true. Thank you for being willing to have a conversation! Awesomeness. : )
- +1 y
@TheRealPepperPotts Well, give yourself credit for starting it! I will always respond positively to the way you approached things, What I don't respond well to is catty or snippy women, although I will still be polite, I don't engage. Feels good to have gotten here together. Thank you :)
- +1 y
@Caroline91 Awww! Thanks for working with me towards the goal of understanding, and I hear what you are saying. Hope you have an awesome Mother's day!
Asker+1 y@Caroline91 yes, great idea 💕💯

@Likes2drive Or perhaps she should decide not to trust the guy and stay home and watch travel documentaries about Paris?
- +1 y
@Caroline91 it’s definitely risky going with someone you don’t know, maybe she should go out a few times with him before that
- +1 y
@Likes2drive Or go by herself. Women greatly underrate the benefits of doing things with ourselves as our own company. There's nothing that says he was gonna pay for it all, so why tie herself down to a man she hardly knows. I would take the trip and then go out with him when I got back if I were interested. And, as an aside, Paris isn't where I would go... It would be Bora Bora!!

Asker+1 y@Caroline91 I understand
- +1 y
@TheRealPepperPotts Hi. I have been trying to find the spot where you asked me why the sarcasm. But there have been so many back and forths on this thread that I’m having a hard time finding it. You did ask in 2 different places and I gave a long reply the first time you asked which may be why you asked the 2nd time because I was still typing. I hope you saw that answer. Long answer short: I literally meant you are the 1st person to ever give me a reason to want to visit Paris. I have never been interested in visiting there, but my husband and I are foodies and your comments about the cuisine piqued my interest. I do not use much sarcasm period and if I do, it is only with people who know me very well. Sarcasm too often causes hurt feelings, can be unkind and can also be used passive aggressively. Since I don’t want to be any of those things, I avoid it. I appreciate that you are the kind of woman to call things out if you think something is iffy. More of us need too do that more often. I also admire that you did it in such a way that made communication open and possible instead of attacking. If I offended in anyway it was unintentional and I am sorry if I said anything that could be interpreted that way.. Peace?
Asker+1 y@Caroline91 I sent you a private message
- +1 y
@Caroline91 Oh, totally!! I just couldn't tell and it's so difficult with just a comment to know where someone is coming from. I want to understand before I assume someone is being a pill. : ) You would love French cuisine if you are a foodie! You seem like a neat person to not take offense, too; I appreciate it. I hope you get to go to France someday; it would be so neat.
