Why are women so comfortable talking about emotions/insecurities?

It's always sort of baffled me as a man because women know how to take advantage of this kind of knowledge more than guys usually do yet they will talk about everything from a yeast infection to a recent story about them thinking hamburgers are made of pork or share an embarrassing story.

As a guy, I always feel like so much effort in my energy every day goes into not accidentally talking about stuff like this.

Women are more comfortable talking about the haircut they got last week, and how they feel about it, and who did and didn't notice that they got a haircut, and what every single one of them said or neglected to say.

Women are more comfortable talking about the dream they had three nights ago, and how it totally ruined their mood the next day, and caused them to get in a fight with their best friend, but everything's fine now, and also how that dream is different from the dream they had last night, and by the way you were in that dream, and you were behaving kind of obnoxiously, so if I seem upset with you today, that's why.

Women are more comfortable talking about that time they skinned their knee when they were five, and they were afraid they would have to go to the hospital and get a shot, but instead their mom washed it and put a band-aid on it, it was a green band-aid and I wanted a pink band-aid, but mom said we didn't have any pink band-aids, which made me cry more, and then we went to a fast food restaurant and had chicken nuggets, but not the fast food restaurant with the really good chicken nuggets.

Women are more comfortable talking about that stranger they saw the last time they went to the grocery store, who looked exactly like a different stranger they saw ten years earlier when they went to the zoo, and the crazy thing is they looked exactly alike, but they were totally different people, although I suppose they could have been the same person, because anything's possible, but if they were the same person the stranger at the grocery store would have looked ten years older than the stranger at the zoo, but he really only looked about seven years older, but anyway I was at that grocery store because they have the best variety of hummus, including black bean hummus, except I always thought hummus had chickpeas, not beans, so is black bean hummus really hummus, or do they just call it hummus because marketing?

Hard to say, we just do. I guess it's just natural for us? If that makes sense. I know for guys it's different but that's usually due to social reasons and stuff. I think it's ok for guys to express their emotions too though.

The group of men I grew up with have no problems talking about emotions, but I've probably been a bad influence on them. I don't mind being the late night early morning shoulder to ramble on.
