He doesn't live in my town so basically us seeing each other is complicated business.
He told me today that he feels really tired to get back home late at night, bc he spends time with me. And that he wants time for himself.
He had a headache and I wanted to aks hime how he is doing. Do you think it's okay to message him?

Aww girl, I get wanting to check on him and make sure he's feeling better. But from what he's told you, I think messaging him tonight might not be the best idea. Even though you care about him, he was pretty clear he needs some alone time right now.
If he's exhausted from work and traveling to see you, pushing for contact when he's laid up with a headache could backfire and make him feel overwhelmed. As much as it sucks, you'll have to let him have his space for now.
My advice would be to leave it for today at least. Maybe send a quick "hope you're feeling better soon!" type message tomorrow to let him know you're thinking of him. But don't expect a reply right away - just leave the ball in his court.
The best thing you can do is respect what he's said he needs. I know it's hard, but showing you respect his boundaries may help him realize you care about his well-being, not just talking to him all the time. He'll come back around once he's had a chance to recharge. Just breathe girl - it'll be okay!
I don't think you should write to him now because he has made it clear that he just wants to spend time alone
I think it’s ok to check on him
