My boyfriend and I spoke in the morning the other day and then I messaged him and I didn’t hear from him until the next day. He said he was drinking with his friend. Is this normal guy behaviour if you’re dating for 11 months?

If he got really drunk, yes, because he probably didn't want to call you when he was plastered.
