I have Asperger’s and I would say I’m outgoing. However, outgoing Aspies seem like an exception to the rule.

I think I might have some disorder like this. Not sure which one and never got a diagnosis. I'm not shy, but I have social anxiety and someone who pays enough attention to me (most people don't) realizes that. But most people think I'm outgoing and extroverted. I always notice how others socialize and I tell myself narratives about myself and others, and I can fake social skills very well.

I also have trouble focusing on what people say to me and what they talk between each other, but I pretend to know what they are talking about.

However, people who are into psychology and body language and are very intuitive notice it and tell me.

they aren't shy. they just don't know how to function in social settings properly. and that's typically why they avoid social settings, which makes them seem shy.

I wouldn't say we're shy. We know we don't process things the way others do. We also know that we're socially inept. This gives us the appearance of being shy.

Aspergers isn't even used as a diagnosis anymore. Autism is a spectrum so the people on it vary greatly.
