New date asked me to his party?

I went on 2 dates with this guy. We clicked and he is a gentleman, seems very mature and is very respectful. He has his own place and he mentioned to me that he's having a party with friends next weekend. Didn't think he was the type to party I don't know. When he was talking about it initially he didn't invite me. But later on our date it came up again and he said "you're welcome to come but I feel bad you wouldn't really know anyone". I said maybe and then carried on. When the date ended he said well maybe I'll see you at the party and I said yeah if you're lucky just joking with him. I'm confused do I go or not? I've never been to his place and I feel odd my first time being there during a party with a bunch of people I don't know... any thoughts?

He certainly wasn't very smooth with his invite, but nbd. I would say you attending his party is something to decide yourself. Sure you won't know anyone and that's never ideal. Are you comfortable in social settings? Friendly, talkative, self-aware etc? If you are interested in this guy and see a possible future this is a great opportunity to take that first step. If you do stay together a while you will eventually have to meet his friends anyway.

Phone and ask him if you can bring your friend as you won't know anyone.. It's always good to be with someone at a strange place for a party anyway.. OR, just turn up with a friend and say it retrospectively.

He’s looking to see if you’ll get along with his friends. I’d go to the party. It will give you a better idea of the type of guy he is.

I think it’s too soon to be hanging out at his place. But go with your gut feeling.
