There are, but I am happily not one of them.
The idea of being "born in the wrong body" makes no sense at all. For one thing, those who claim so have no idea what it feels like to be the opposite sex because they have no experience being the opposite sex and therefore objectively do not and cannot know that they are in fact the opposite sex. What's really going on is that they are psychologically, emotionally, and yes, even spiritually disturbed on a very deep level.
Also nonsense is the idea that sex is "assigned at birth". No, it is established at conception. The sperm and the egg don't ask each other's consent or opinion as to whether a boy or a girl should be conceived. They just conceive a boy or a girl and that's it.
People who have these kinds of feelings don't need affirmation or surgery. They need HELP.
Sigh... NOBODY CARES.
Biologically, a woman's purpose is to conceive and birth children. That's what "woman" used to mean until "anything can mean anything brigade" arrived and now we have to ask people if they have a penis or a vagina because "woman" and "man" can mean anything at all.
Are you ever gonna get pregnant? No? Then what fucking difference does it make if you feel that you're a woman trapped in a man's body? In what way are you a woman if you don't fulfill the inherent, tautological description of what a woman is?
You ever heard the phrase, "If my grandma had wheels, she'd be a bicycle."?

The government of at least one country has declared that people who hold such beliefs are mentally ill.
It's normal to feel unhappy with who you are. Especially in a society that demonized one of the categories you were born as. The question is whether therapy/lifestyle changes can help you come to terms with reality, or if pretending to be the other thing, would be better for your long term mental health.
Whatever you do just don’t start wearing dresses and lipstick.
No, I just feel like I am a middle aged guy in a teenagers body.
