Why would my ex reach out to me after years of no contact. He has a wife and 2 kids. I had no idea about his wife when we were together in the past but when I did find out, I contacted her and told her all about it. He’s now reached out after 3 years of no contact. Texted me and Called me by my name and wanted to know how I was doing and tried to call me. I immediately reached out to his wife and told her again. I just want to know why would he reach out to me after so long?

Backstory: he got engaged to her and I was pregnant at that time by him and so was she. I ended up terminating and she went on to have kids and get married to him.

He reached out to create an emotional bond that he hopes would lead to a sexual outcome. Some problem at home, boredom, or a lack of intimacy probably triggered it. But a lot of the motivations for what a man does 99% of the time will be to get sex or to ease some physical need. Only if the man is living in the spirit, will his intentions be different / honorable.

The reasons he's contacting you doesn't matter anymore. He's an ex, a nobody in your life. If he doesn't stop, screenshot the texts, send them to his wife and block him.

Knowing his age would tell me everything. If he's young, he's probably trying to smash. Pretty normal. And it's pretty abnormal for young guys to want to be settle down forever with one person. That's a 30s mindset.

If he's older, he could be reaching out to apologize, he could have broken up and wanted to see if there's a chance to reconcile. He might have been looking for psychological support.

All I can say is that it's because they'll miss what the both of you had, and he's regretting things that he never got to do.
