my boyfriend mom just recently had a stroke and since she been in the hospital he's been very distant won't call and if he does text doesn't hold a long conversation, he doesn’t know how to handle emotions so he was trying to argue with me and after he asked for space to miss each other , I understand what he’s going through so I backed off and that’s when he was watching everything I post & he been reaching out and when he comes over my house he’s very affectionate but I just don’t know about the distant behavior he tells me he loves me a lot but he’s very distant since his mom , I don't know if I’m being insensitive thinking maybe it’s somebody else or I don't know I never dealt with something like this so I’m just confused

It’s just the distance that’s confusing me. He doesn’t call just text & im trying to not add anymore stress cause I know he is going through something but it’s hard like I don't know

At least he's still texting. When my grandma died, I had cut my ties between my friends. After a while, I've called and apologized all of them. I guess, he just need space. If he really loves you, then he will come back to you. But I repeat, it's a serious situation for him.
