I just feel like I'm not enough for him sometimes. He is quite experienced in everything, and naturally he had many relationships before me but I didn't. Sometimes I'm afraid that my inexperience will make me seem inadequate.

Would it bother you to be in a relationship with a young woman who doesn't have much experience in life, also romantically and sexually?

I'm in a major age gap relationship, but with the genders swap (I'm 40 and he's 26). When things started out I was super hesitant to even give him a try because of the age gap. It was about maturity (although I suppose I was assuming he'd be less mature because he was less experienced, as a result of his age). However, for a variety of reasons, I gave him a shot. I soon found out that we were super compatible maturity wise, despite the age gap (and his lack of experience). In fact, we were way more compatible in our maturity than several of my exes (all of whom were around my age or older). He's incredibly supportive, sweet, honest, understanding, makes communication a priority, and supports me in what I do (again, much more than many (if not all) of the guys I was with who were my age or older). Despite his lack of experience, he's by far the best partner I've had

In terms of sex, his inexperience was a little bit of an issue at the beginning. However, he was very interested in learning and getting better. He was very interested in giving me pleasure (and wasn't just super selfish in bed, which was the case with my ex-husband, who is 5 years older than me). Within a couple months he got pretty good in bed. Within 4-5 months he became incredible.

Moreover, there are a lot of things about his age that are inherently an advantage sexually. For one thing, he's got a sexy fit body that looks amazing naked (not a lot of guys my age have that). He also gets harder and recovers faster than most guys my age.

I say all this to tell you that the age gap isn't a problem if you're compatible in terms of maturity. Moreover, your age might actually be a plus when it comes to the bedroom (I'd be willing to bet you probably look way better naked than most women his age)

Ask yourself, if you REALLY felt that way, then why are you with him? Wouldn’t you just leave him so he could find someone better?

I've gone out with women close to my age and more often than not, they bring all the issues that caused their previous relationships to fail. If you never take ownership of your part of a failed relationship, you're doomed to repeat it. Experience is nothing if you haven't learned any life lessons and created a better version of yourself. I started dating younger because I found them more optimistic about the future. If you're an old soul, you'll be fine in an age gap relationship.

Anything larger than a 10 year gap seldom works out longterm. Know that going in. I wouldn't worry about your inexperience. If he's decent guy he's not going to care. But I would be concerned about him respecting you. It doesn't matter if you're 18 or a 100 in a relationship there has to be mutual respect for there to be healthy relationship.

Probably not. I imagine he's just happy he gets to date a young lady. Having less experience is also seen as a plus to a good portion of men.

That's close to the age gap of my parents. Actually, he was a bit older than 44. They were married for 40 years until he died.
