My guy best friend told me I was pretty. I asked him if I could attract my romantic preference. He said he thinks I could, but sometimes suggested they might only be interested in me because I'm lighter-skinned or they don’t want me. He also mentioned my dating preferences to his other guy friends.

After that, he stopped talking to me. His friends made it seem like the only way he'd talk to me again is if I dated him. Now he ignores me and we don't talk anymore.
