Is it possible for someone to be shy calling someone else by name?

I dont get it.. I can count by hands how many times he call me by name in real life/calling. And that also only happen when we are far away and he want to call me. The rest he will just go with friend. “Friend what are we eating today” “Friend what are you doing”

BUT

When it comes to chat, he always say my name. Always. Rarely go with that ‘friend’

Girl that is so weird! Like why is he all shy saying your name out loud but types it no problem? Makes no sense.

My only guess is maybe he thinks your name is super pretty and it makes him nervous saying it cause he likes you or something? I don't know guys can be so awkward sometimes lol.

But still, after this long you'd think he'd be comfortable! Maybe try calling him by his name more when you're together so he gets used to it. Or straight up ask him why the difference - be like "hey does saying my name scare you or something? I don't bite!"

Could also be he's just not that affectionate publicly in general too I guess. But I'd want a little more effort than "friend" all the time too, I feel you girl!

At least he says it when it's just you two texting so that's a good sign? Hopefully he comes out of his shell more. If he can't step it up soon though you might need to find a guy who's not so shy about showing you some love out loud too!
