Ex boyfriend won’t shut up about me. always goes out of his way to make comments about me?

I could care less about him and can’t stand him so if you comment “why do you still care” it’ll just be deleted.

I don’t understand, we broke up months ago then I cut him off for good in March and just started ignoring him completely.

My friends keep telling me, he always finds a way to mention me these past couple months. Whether it’s to say yeah we don’t talk anymore , which confused them because they already know, or to make a jab at me or to randomly angrily bring up the breakup to people who didn’t know about it.

Why is he doing this?

I don’t know how this is being misunderstood. I care about MY reputation, I don’t care about him. And monitoring my ex? What am I doing , secretly recording his conversations or stalking him to get this info? People are obviously telling me , without me having to ask.

Girl, it sounds like he's still not over you! Some guys have trouble accepting rejection and letting go of past relationships.

A few possibilities for his behavior:

- He's got an ego bruise from the breakup and wants to "sell" the story that he's fine and moved on even if he's not.

- He's trying to get under your skin or make you jealous by talking about you. Hoping you'll reach back out.

- Deep down he still has feelings but doesn't want to admit it. So he vents in the form of little digs at you.

The best thing to do is rise above it and don't give him the satisfaction of a reaction. Act like it doesn't faze you at all! Pretend you barely remember who he is lol.

If he keeps bringing you up, you can call him out politely like "Wow, seems like you've obsessed over me for months now. Maybe time to find some new conversational topics?"

He'll tire himself out eventually. Just keep doin you and stay out of his messy orbit, sis! His issues aren't your burden to carry.

Most likely because he is salty and thinks this is a good way to get back at you or get under your skin. It seems to be working and I bet you let it show and word of that finds its way back to him so he keeps doing it. Just ignore him. If he thinks it doesn't bother you he won't have any incentive. That is one possiblity. The other is that these must be mutual friends? If so he might be trying to make you look bad and sway them to his side by telling them whatever it is he is saying about you. That is the other possibility that makes sense in my mind. I am sure there could be other reasons but those are the two that came to mind right away.

Chances are, if you know your ex is talking crap about you, it's because you're somehow still connected to his world. Give yourself a break from that negativity and limit your contact with you ex, or just don't contact him at all. If you're ready, talk it out.

Well, it might be many things. They are still hurt because you dumped them (if that is the case). It might be that you hurt them and they are still looking for revenge. It might be that they are trying to get your attention by talking bad about you with people that you have in common.
