If a guy starts complaining to others about you not greeting him does he hate you?

I work in a big office and tend to forget who I already greeted so I somethimes forget to greet someone or greet another one twice. There is a guy that I used to get along with very well in the beginning who always asked me to join for lunch or coffee. However when I once forgot to greet him I overheard him complaining to his other colleagues about me ignoring them. I also saw him once giving me an angry stare from across the room. Does he hate me now?

Sounds like it. But if that's all it takes for him to hate you, dude has some serious issues and you do your best to avoid him.
