Why would a guy give you more attention when you say you don’t want to see him anymore?

Since we went on a date he’ll be on and offline and won’t read my messages, sometimes for 12+ hours, and it got to the point where he was sending one text a day. Also, the conversation was kept at surface level and seemed blunt and dry.

I suggested we talk, which he didn’t seem to bothered about and just said he’s super busy atm.

My interest has slowly decreased to the point where I don’t want to, and now I’ve told him that we shouldn’t move forward he’s going mad, acting shocked and concerned asking for the talk that he was too busy for before.

He’s now saying how he’s being seeing his mum because she’s ill, that’s why he hasn’t been responding, but he’s been active on dating apps and social media.

Because he wants it to be on his terms if you guys stop talking, it’s an ego thing. I also believe he has a hard time keeping women if that’s how he handles them. No one wants that inconsistency forever, or to be waiting hours on end for a response to something that’s not even gonna matter anymore by the time he responds. It’s lazy, inconsiderate and selfish if this is about a busy schedule, because he knows he can’t prioritize a woman but still seek one.
