Is it normal that my married male next-door neighour always chats to me when he sees me?

At first it started with hello ( he often said hello first and then smiled to himself after that)

recently he saw me with my suitcases in the hallway. He asked me ” so you were away on vacation?”

I then said yeah. He was like how long was I away and I said that I was away for a month. Then he asked did I go to france ( he knows I’m a french).

then he saw me yesterday in the elevator after a not bumbing into each other. We said hi to each other. He then said ” so you were a month in paris , right?”

Me : yes I was in paris.

him: do you have a lot of family there.

me : yes I do have but I have as much family here in toronto too.

is he just being friendly?

Sounds like he’s just being friendly. Hard these days for men to be able to just talk to women w out having to be concerned about some sort of accusation. Even in the work settings a lot of men avoid interacting w women for the same reason. Sad it’s come to that.

It seems like he is just being friendly, at least so far, but I get the feeling he is trying to get to know you better by the nature of his questions.

Seems okay to me in my opinion
