Why do men put down other men who are successful with girls?

Question

I have usually been the one keeping to himself and not pursuing any women. Recently that changed and I have been far exceeding the success I anticipated having. With that said, I’ve noticed a lot of guys (random or not) suddenly started putting me down or trying to “out” me often in front of the girl. Why is this? Is it a jealousy thing or just basic competition?

Jealousy and envy. It starts earlier than you might anticipate because dudes will see everything from how you dress to how comfortable woman get around you.

They might feel like they already put the work in, they might feel like you don’t deserve it, they might just want to steal the girl away because you look like an easy target.

what I’ve seen some guys do that works for them is talk the other guy down back like he did to you only you have to be even more smooth about it. It’s better not to do it if you can’t do this but you need to call them out in some way. Just make sure you got the ammo you need Ana you can out talk them in a way there’s no response that will work

Same boat here man. It’s called small man syndrome. They don’t have what you have, they’re unhappy, they feel their unfortunate predicament is brought about by circumstances which they perceive you take advantage of, and rather than make any changes for themselves, they blame and bring you to their level as a way of validating their self worth

Jealousy and insecurity, but like what has said already , dont brag about it, if thats what you're doing. I can't imagine being out with a girl, talking or walking with one, and some random schlub walks up and says to her "is this moron your boyfriend?" or insults, etc,. Its never happened so I can't really picture it

Have you tried shutting the fuck up about it?
I don't understand how you're success or failure with women is even a talking point. Especially when you already know what the reaction is going to be.
Pretty sure if you shut the fuck up this will all stop.
Ask your doctor if shutting the fuck up is right for you

I know it's pathetic. But life is a competition. And your still included in thier competition even if you're not competing with them.

I used to have a "friend" that any time I'd show a pic of a woman I was currently talking to he'd always say, "I could f*** her". As though he needed to let me know how "gettable" she was. Like I cared!
