Long story short, my boyfriend just got out of jail after serving a one-year sentence. He sent me letters and we talked on the phone pretty much daily, and he was always telling me that he couldn’t wait to hold me in his arms and wake up to me snuggled against his chest,

he’s been out almost 3 weeks now and he’s like a totally different person and it’s breaking my heart. I don’t know what’s going on with him and I’m trying to be understanding, but it’s really starting to wear on self esteem.

the first night I saw him after he got out, we had a very lovely evening & he gave me a really passionate kiss. We were holding hands in the gazebo in his backyard & listening to music. The next time I saw him, the affection was missing & he said he would invite me to stay over but his mom was not in a good mood.

I sent him naughty pictures of myself & he didn’t even acknowledge them, but I know he received them because I wrote a message on one of the pictures & he responded to the note, but he didn’t say anything about the photo.

he keeps flaking on everything he plans with me. We were supposed to go to the drive-in movies on Saturday & he backed out and said we should wait until Sunday. Sunday rolled around and he backed out yet again. It’s making me feel like he’s not interested in me. All he does is sit around on Facebook and listen to music. I tried to have conversations and tell him about things that are bothering me, and I would like to discuss it and he acts like he doesn’t even hear me and keeps dodging a conversation and then it makes me angry. I’m not initially responding in an angry way, but when I’m trying to have a mature conversation and he keeps avoiding it, then I get angry.

i’m starting to think that he’s turned gay. There’s something going on with him and I don’t understand what it is. He has a woman in real life that is eager to please him & he’s dallying around on facebook. All I wanna do is rip his clothes off. I’ve waited so long for him to come home

He should be transparent about what's going through his mind. Prison affects people to the highest degree because its such a hostile, fucked up place. You're a champ to have stayed.

He needs time, to recover from the hell of prison, but y'all need to talk to each other. Im sure he loves you. honestly dont end your relationship cause of people telling you to.

Talk together, communication is the key to success :)

His psyche may have changed in prison to the point of not wanting sex. That may be temporary. However, it's also possible he's gay. I don't think prison turns straight people gay, but possibly it helps people who suppress their homosexuality to come to terms with it.

I'm a gay man who's a total bottom, and one of my previous boyfriends had come out of jail as gay. Or rather as a top who preferred penetrating a passive gay man like me over women. I know he was attached to a woman before going to jail, and he did not return to her but stayed with me a while. After we broke up, he found other bottom men like me to be with.

I'm not saying that's the only explanation for your boyfriend's case, and there could be other reasons for his distant behavior than being gay. But, if you suspect he could be gay, and would like to know the signs, let me know. I met a lot of straight men who turned gay, so I know what makes them tick.
