Why do my guy friends put me on a pedestal and later friendzone me?

One of them tried to kiss me twice and later friendzoned me because he only sees me as a friend. Why if he likes my personality and my looks? What am I missing?

They may be attracted to you but not want a romantic relationship. a lot of women would not be down for the things you allow, like hand kissing, touching, flirting, affection, etc and still call that connection a friendship. Because none of that is what platonic friends would do, and a self respecting woman would not allow those lines to be crossed.
