Why would a guy confide in you when he has a girlfriend?

I have a friend who I met through work, we used to be pretty close when we worked together but since then we’ve both found new jobs and moved on with our lives.

He has a girlfriend of 4 years and she seems like a really down to earth sweet girl. The other day he messaged me after not speaking to me for nearly two weeks which I was quite annoyed about. When I asked why he messaged after sometime he said “Can I not message you normally? I wanna speak to you about stuff as I have a lot going on rn”. Which is fine because I know he’s stressed but why won’t he confide in his girlfriend?

Because chances are she’s the problem. Women say men should just be honest, tell them what’s wrong, etc, etc. But the problem is most women don’t listen. Especially when I times to him telling her he doesn’t like this about her, or her attitude or something. So she feels attacked, so she gets defensive. If women wanted to learn a lot about men all they have to do is keep white. Regardless of how mad it makes you, just sit, listen for once. None of this I told you so. See I was right. That’s why it’s just easier as a man to not say anything. He knows he did wrong. She doesn’t need to scold him.

Possible. Lot of things can't be discussed with a partner without jeopardizing the relationship so he sought a female friend for it
