Why, when I gave him my number, he didn’t reach out?

Hey everyone, I could use some advice.

I recently gave a note to a guy I like that said, "Hi! I'd like to get to know you. If you're interested, text me: 123456." We’ve had some casual interactions before, like playing volleyball and exchanging some eye contact. He seemed to show signs of interest, such as trying to be close to me, teasing me during the game, and feeling embarrassed and apologizing when he accidentally hit me with the ball.

When I handed him the note, he asked what it was. I told him to take his time reading it, and he smiled and said "ok." However, it’s been five days and I haven’t heard back from him.

Despite not reaching out, I’ve noticed he still shows signs of interest—like flexing his muscles around me, seeming louder, looking at me in the hallway, and acting nervous by touching his hair and fidgeting. I’m confused about what to think.

Why might someone show signs of interest but not reach out? Could he be nervous, overthinking, or waiting for the right moment? Should I continue waiting or take it as a sign he’s not interested? Any thoughts or advice would be greatly appreciated!
