I seriously don't get this? Sometimes a new conversation with a guy starts by him sending me that before even saying hello to me for the first time. Why?

I think this is a result of a basic misunderstanding between guys and girls. Girls assume that guys look at sex the same way they do. And Guys assume that girls look at sex the same way we do. Guys are very visually oriented. As I've said elsewhere, guys are programmed to find the sights and sounds of women attractive and a real turnon. The differences between a man's anatomy and that of a woman are endlessly fascinating to us! Seeing certain parts of a beautiful woman's body can be a real turnon! So guys assume the girls get turned on seeing a man's sex organ! Some girls may react that way, but a lot of girls, from what I know, simply find this gross!

Most girls need to get to know the guy, to feel comfortable with him, to feel she can trust him, and to begin to feel at least some affection for him before sleeping with him. It's not the same as for guys! Remember that we guys produce millions of sperm cells constantly. Men were designed to roam the earth impregnating as many females as possible! But a woman produces one egg cell per month during her childbearing years. So naturally a woman is going to be much more selective in choosing a partner. So guys, DON'T start off trying to impress a woman with a picture of your male organ, because you might turn her off, which is the opposite of what you want!

Well I’ll put in my two cents but if you don’t like the response, don’t be angry with me. I think the reason they do it is

1. You have a beautiful picture of yourself for your profile pic.
2. Once they see that, they think they have a chance with you.
3. Women love to show their breasts at parties, Mardi Gras, etc. They are attention getters. Men only have one thing we can show off or use for attracting a woman - the penis.
4. Sometimes a woman is attracted to an erect penis. In a way the penis is used for fishing - hoping to attract a woman and hopefully she’ll go out with him, have sex, get married, have kids.

Like I said, don’t be mad - but you have to admit - there’s some truth hidden in what I said.

I think this kind of pictures may have their place within a certain context, but at the beginning of a conversation or texting, they are absolutely out of place. For most women, I would say the vast majority of you, this guy would come across as needy. A different scenario would be if it happens some time after you get to know each other and in the context of sexting or openly flirting with one another. I sincerely think no girl is expecting a dic picture during the initial phase of getting to know a guy, nor would I expect a nude picture from a girl that early. If I were you, I wouldn’t invest any time in getting to know him. End of conversation.

The interesting part of getting to know each other, the fun part I would say, is to take things step by step. Take it slow. I wouldn’t even kiss on a first date. because essentially guys are pragmatic and efficient. why waste a bunch of time beating around the bush for a partner that may not even be for you. getting to know a person to see if they fit your needs and desires is a hard and complicated process. so why not knock the easy one of "finding out if they're sexually compatible" first? why waste a bunch of time to find out you like a person just to then realize you won't work together sexually. it's the less efficiant order of operations
