Why do men say they prefer modest women with light makeup when I get more attention in revealing clothes and heavy makeup?

I used to dress up a lot more and do my makeup heavier. I go out to more places now than I did before but I dress more modest not conservatively just less exposed. I think I dress well still just more covered and I wear lighter makeup.

I often here guys on here say If you dress more modest and wear lighter makeup higher quality men will be interested in you but I seem to get the same quality of men just more boring, less handsome, and less of them. When I dolled up more I got more attractive guys now I get guys who are less attractive with the personality of bricks.

Do men actually prefer modest women who wear light makeup or just say that.

I do believe light makeup is better than overdoing it though depending on the individual woman. Some women use too much, others know how to make it look good so you obviously enhance your looks with it while others not so much.

This can be interpreted in various ways.

The first reason men say this truthfully is because dumbass bimbos overdo make up to the point it really looks like some ugly drag clown.

The other reason is that husbands don't want you to flaunt your flesh in the face of god, and to other men. Unless the husbands are cucks. Because eventually some stranger will end up butt-raping you if you appear indistinguishable from a professional whore. If commitment-minded (often called "high quality" as you say) men observe you flaunting your flesh wherever you go, what else should they assume other than that you'll be flaunting your flesh to the public for the rest of your life?

You might think that when you used to flaunt your flesh, horny men talked to you. Now calm men talk to you. The lack of horny must be what you are associating with "boring", right?

Which is supposed to make you think: would the same men behave differently depending on how you appear? This also makes you wonder; is horniness really the perfect recipe to make men expressive?

That's what makes it attractive. If a woman knows she could get more attention but doesn't do it. It shows either she was raised well and/ or she doesn't have the need to push the "I need attention and validation button". This means she is more secure and has self worth, she doesn't need constant external validation to feel ok. That means she'll be more mentally healthy and stable. It also means she has self control. She doesn't follow the most basic easy impulses to get rewarded in her brain.

It's like the experiment that they did with rats where they made a button that was connected to the pleasure center in the rats brain and the rats died from dehydration and starvation because all they did was push the button all day.

I think that men will lust after a sexy looking made up woman. Only they will feel safer and want to be with a more natural looking woman long term.
However I I think it's all. about dressing in a way that you want to. Whatever style makes you feel comfortable and happy. As that is what shows the most is how happy you are wearing what you feel good in. The magnet is the vibe or aura that you carry inside you.
To attract just attention and get the type of guy that will be exciting but fickle dress to suit. Just give boring guys a chance too , there may be more substance to then than you realise.

In my experience, it is likely true that men favor less makeup and revealing clothes... But there is no denying the peacock effect.

The human eye is drawn to bright, bold colors, revealing cuts, and loud statement pieces. When looking to pick someone up, you will always attract more people if you are literally more eye-catching. This isn't supposition, you can see it play out in nature amongst multiple species of animals.

On the other side (and this is an educated guess), I believe that men would prefer their partners to dress more conservatively and with less makeup so that they don't attract any competition.

Most men want to pick a woman who is scantily dressed (or naked) with no makeup on, but still looks as attractive as others do with makeup.

I’ve noticed that good looking guys who lead interesting lives are usually (but not always) players and usually prefer girls who wear revealing clothes and lots of makeup.
