Guy's Behavior

My boyfriend tends to stare at girls that look nothing like me when we are out. What do I do in this situation?

So I have had talks with my boyfriend about his staring problems. He tends to stare and honestly it’s making me think about breaking up with him because I don’t get it. We will be having a conversation and he will be spacing out looking at something behind me ( most of the time it’s another girl or even a guy sometimes). Or he will be at a bar and just eyeing up girls staring at them to the point where other people notice. He hasn’t done the super creepy staring thing in a while since I mentioned it. His excuse was people are dangerous you have to be aware of your surroundings lol. I’m having a hard time being okay with this because it’s at the point where every time we go out I see him checking out other girls or he will just be spacing out. He tries to be sly about it but I see him and i always see his eyes go to the girl that has lighter features. I have dark features so i’m confused. I consider myself to be attractive and many people have told me that my boyfriend and I don’t go well together looks wise. It took him a few years to pursue me, and he claims to have had a crush on me for 6 years so i’m not sure why he feels the need to stare at other girls if he wanted me so bad. When a girl who has dark features walks by he doesn’t pay any mind. Maybe i’m not his type? I mean he gives me compliments but I’m just very confused and I need opinions on this. Is this worth breaking up over? I’ve talked to him about it many times and his own family member agreed that he does have a staring problem.
