So today he actually told me and another classmate he’s attracted to our other classmate though. I told him he shouldn’t call her bestie lol. He agreed cuz he said when he calls girls that then they think he might be more like a gay bestie even though he could be attracted to her. But he also said he acts different with us vs when he also is attracted to someone.

Yeah, it's tough to read this whole situation clearly! On one hand he does seem to really appreciate you as a close friend. But his compliments do get kinda flirty too, telling you he loves you and that he'll dress up just for you. And calling you funny and loving your energy are more romantic type things to say too.

At the same time though, he also mentioned acting different around girls he's attracted to vs friends. So he could see you more as a buddy since he says he acts differently. Or maybe he wants to take things slow cause you're classmates like you said.

Hard to say for sure without asking him directly how he feels about you. But seems like you've got a good thing going as friends too.
