Why hasn't he tried anything with me yet?

I met this guy at work, he's a little younger than me but we get on extremely well and you can definitely tell he cares about me a lot and likes me as more than a friend but he will not make a move.

I think he's really cute and I have a massive crush on him. When I close my eyes I can't stop thinking about him and wanting to kiss him but I don't make the first move mainly because I'm very inexperienced.

He had a girlfriend before but they broke up because she wanted to focus on uni. When they broke up I was the first one he told.

There was another time we were invited out for drinks by another colleague and he rejected the offer until I said I was coming along. Later that night some of us went clubbing including myself and this guy.

He kept stairing at me on the dance floor from the bar. Then this guy started being really handys with me and I asked him to get off me, all I remember was being pressed up against the wall and then next thing my crush pulled him off me and got in a fight with this guy.

He got a black eye and cut lip. I was kinda mad with him for not just walking away but appreciated be he was brave enough to stick up for me in that situation. I made sure he got home safe and cleaned him up. As I was cleaning him up he was giggling a lot which I found strange for a guy who just gotten a black eye for me and he went all shy like a little school girl.

He said it was getting late and I should just stay at his in the spare bedroom and that he had some of his exs stuff I could borrow if I needed anything.

I put on one of his t shirts to go bed in and again he just started staring at me and smiling. I was hoping he'd come in were I was sleeping to check in on me but he didn't.

There's been so many examples he's been there to protect me and look after me but he will not put a hand on me.

On time we were in the storage cupboard together and I thought he was gonna go in for a kiss then but he didn't and just starting playfully flirting with me instead
