Why does my ex keep coming back?

my ex has 2 kids by a woman that he’s off and on with. before he had this new family i was the ex right before the first kid. he keeps coming back … sometimes he will flirt with me , other times he seems to want to work with me on his business projects he has … i can’t tell what he’s looking for? he says he wants to be “friends” but he is my ex … and he has a family ….. by a woman who doesn’t like me …. he’s been coming back every other year since 2020 … why? desperate? he is also a long distance ex so this is all via social media and facetime. we hung out a lot in 2020 but after his family , it’s just over the phone conversation. why is this?

I think that it really just depends, look regardless of the reasoning if you don’t want to be around him anymore just tell him as well as ask him everything you asked on here. Will he tell the truth? I don’t have any idea but at least he will know how you feel. He knows why he’s doing something then anyone here who doesn’t know him. I know some people think they’re telepathic but that’s another story.

But to answer the question possible reasons. Well could he be desperate and missing you? Possibly so…. Could he just genuinely be wanting to be friends possible but if you’re gut and logic is telling you there is more, you’re not stupid. So… Probably.

If he’s with another woman and you feel that he is trying to rekindle something with you then maybe it’s a good idea to distance yourself from him. Be kind but honest unless he gives you a reason not to be. If you don’t feel comfortable with whatever is going on then put a stop to it or it’s only going to get worse.

Have boundaries sometimes you have to respectfully express them (unless given a reason to not be so nice) because some people just don’t know how you feel. If you express how you feel and he starts gaslighting you for going to him directly not going behind his back and saying shit. Then okay…. He has a problem. But maybe he won’t
