I posted a story on insta and my ex coworker (we both left that job but he left a few months before me) reacted and we started texting because I thought we were becoming friends. He confessed that he used to like me, but when we were working together he just got a girlfriend so I didn’t think much of it. It was all fun and giggles for two days and then I introduced him to one of my friends, and now he takes longer to reply despite earlier saying he was a fast responder and he’s really dry by saying things like “haha sure” when two days ago he would have made a joke. I wanna become friends with him but is it worth it or should I just stop trying?

You seem to be attached to that guy despite the fact that you have separated a while ago. Ask yourself why you are so adamant to keep up that contact? I presume it is because you may have had a crush on him and cannot let go of him despite the fact that he has a girlfriend now.

You must also realize that you have lost that place you had when you were working together and as such, the elapsed time between messages will only get longer and longer.

Move on, that is your best option rather than to hope and be disappointed.

I haven’t yet but he even told me that my friend that I introduced to him is funny and she’s beautiful. So I wonder if that has anything to do and if it does I don’t want to be annoying them and go into their business.
