Guy's Behavior

So why does my old talking stage (kinda friends too) avoid me so much that its embarrassing for him?

So with this one guy at highschool we were friends at the beggining then after a while i had a crush on him. He had a girlfriend tho so i never made a move. They broke up and his girlfriend told me everything like what he said ab me and that all the time he would talk ab how bad i am etc at a point it was annoying for her bc he stalked my reposts infront of her telling that they are for him and she broke up w him. I told him that i know and he tried to justify but i was so obssesed w him that i let his girlfriend go. Then after 2 months we had a talking stage but in school we would just stare we talked very rarely only on our other course we would talk. Then i learnt again things that he said for me i caught his friend taking pics of me at random places at school and when i caught him he went to him so i knew. When i told him that i know what u said to her bc he said to a girl”omg she's so annoying im not coming to ur class w her “ and when i told him he said “i was joking bro (bc we always used to make fun of eachother for fun) but i wasn't okay w it i went through enough so i cut him off. He tried so much to save it but i couldnt. He would talk to my friends when i was there but i always stayed quiet. Then after finishing high school after like 3 months he removed everything that had to do w me from social media all my friends and he does extreme thing to avoid me when i see him in public. He turns his head when i walk by to act like he didn't see me but he avoids also my friends. He didn't get at the same bus as my bff and waited for the other one. He does always extreme things to avoid me. Why is this?
