I think my boyfriend cares more about his dog than me?

Me and my boyfriend have known each other since we were little. We were best friends in primary school and we used to hook up in sixth form.

We grew up having very difficult life's. I come from a very good middle class family and got given everything I ever needed. My boyfriend on the other hand grew up in the care system and basically got push around from his dad's to nans house growing up and eventually settled in with his nan.

After sixth form we drifted apart. We both got jobs, made new friends and started seeing others.

Then last year I bumped into him at the pub and we got talking again. He told me he'd gotten flat now and he let me play with his dog.

We started having sex again and it was different from before. Seemed a lot more intense and passionate. Not really sex more like love making. He would be very romantic and tell me I was beautiful. Then one day he tells me he's in love with me and always has been and wants to make are relationship more serious and I agreed.

5 months into the relationship he starts just letting the dog walk around the room whilst we're having sex which I told him was off putting and he told me I was over thinking it. He started closing the door so he couldn't come in and he'd wimper at the ddoor and my boyfriend would stop and let him in eventually which I found really annoying.

Now the dog sleep in the bed with us too which I don't like but if I say anything about his dog he gets very defensive.

He never takes me out either if I'm lucky he buys me a maccies all his money goes on his dog.

Then last week I was staying at his and a xl bully somehow got into the garden whilst he was out shopping. It started attacking the dog and I was screaming. I hid in the house and called my boyfriend to come down immediately. I eventually got a baseball bat and scared the dog off but it bit my hand and ankle. Me and the dog both bleeding and he comes to the dog first and has a go at me for not acting quicker whilst I was already crying.

The dogs eye was bleeding and I was so scared. I had to go the police and A&E but he was more upset about his dog. I understand his dog is important to him but I'm his girlfriend he says he loves me and he let me go A&E by myself
