What does it mean when you link your arm with a guys while walking and he does not pull away?

My guy friend and I both have been hanging out off and on, and there are times we have seemed like we would start a relationship. We were hanging out at a casino and after having lunch i locked my arm with him as we were walking. He did not pull away, he stayed very close to me, as we were walking he made the statement "you are not ready to date yet." then as were were leaving "I just realized " he was hinting for me to ask if he wanted me to come hang out with him at his place. Does he like me or want me to make the move first?

Linking arms generally conveys affection and I think trust.

On my side it might just be chivalrous. If a girl is wearing high heels I might offer my arm without any intent. Or I might offer my arm with intent to see if she will take it and if there may be more to explore between us.

With you (a girl) proactively linking arms with me, I am certainly going to enjoy feeling the movement of your body. In much the same way as if you hugged me. With arms around each other, I like the girl to be a little ahead because then I feel the girl's hip swing more. It can make me erect.

On the emotional side I would infer you feel affection to me and probably respect and accepting my leadership which combined is trust. It is also injecting a couple aspect into it.

I don't know why he said "you're not ready to date". I would say he felt the above emotional aspects to respond with that. He might see you as still looking around is my top 'straw in the wind' pick.
